Do The Elderly Care That Their Grandchildren Are Going To Be The Ones Who Suffer To Pay Off The National Debt?
People 65 and up will unanimously vote republican this election. Do they not care that 25 years from now, after they are dead, America will collapse due to the governments current spending trends?

Just like we are paying for our parents’ and grandparents’ social security today…. you don’t actually think that we will be able to receive social security when our generation retires in the next 15 to 25 years do you?
Soon (if it isn’t already happening) we will be paying for 2 generations of social security….

Whose grandchildren?
Those who owe the debt or the ones to whom the debt is owed? Perhaps the ones who loaned the money are the ones who bequeathed the problem to their future generations?
To pay that debt as well as to continue to finance our existence we will need a thriving economy. Taxing that economy into ruin, as seems to be the goal of some of the liberal politicians will certainly be a bigger disaster.
Elderly people think about that more than you do. Most elderly people in this country are Democrats because democrats are kinder to the elderly. Old people have little to live on with their fixed incomes and the Republicans want to privatize social security and make them pay taxes on the income they have already paid taxes on. In 25 years, either you will be or your parents will be elderly. Understand that the republicans created this mess by taking away Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s over-sights to let big business do just what they wanted to do. They also gave the rich massive tax windfalls in their so called trickle down economy, that does not trickle down. As a result we are in the most serious financial meltdown since the great depression, also brought on by Republican policies. We are now a socialist country rather than a capitalist country. True elderly people will be dead, most of them. in 25 years that is the reason that you young people should get out your vote to vote Democratic because if we survive this one, it will be up to you to take care of your elderly and fix the mess the Bush Administration created. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!
You are partly right and partly wrong. The so called National Debt is meaningless. It’s like your left pocket owing your right pocket your change.
Social Security and Medicare are a gorilla of a different color however. That’s where your grandkids will suffer. But the Democrats are unwilling to do anything about it.
Relying on foreign oil is another thing that will kill your grandkids. And the Democrats showed how much they care about that by turning off the lights and tv cameras so they could go peddle Pelosi’s book and take vacations from WORKING SO HARD. (sarcasm)

Bush Senior said “No new taxes” and I got the biggest tax increase I have ever had..It wasn’t something he wanted to do, it was something he Had to do! And WE, the United States populous will have to Pay this debt! Did you think a Finacial Fairy was going to come down and do it for us? What you are talking about is the same thing that happened recently for the election of the Governor of Illinois to help the needy and old plp and they voted for him Rodigybliosh or something like that. Now he cut 375 million from Medicaid and closed 11 State Parks sooo no they dont think about the future.

Right now we have two very crucial traumas facing America today. The financial bail outs and terrorists who are hell bent on killing us just for being a free people and they don;t give a rip who the prez is and will never – NEVER sit down over marshmellow diplomacy because it is not in their vocabulary in 5000 years.
Check out the congressional records going back to 2005 and view the actual senate notes and verify who actually stood up 3 years ago and urged and warned the senate that this meltdown was on the horizon if tighter regulations were not applied. Look to see who turned their backs on this warning and why their backs were turned. The answers will not only confirm that no gift speech can spin this away.

Yes, they care, most of that age group served in some kind of foreign war. I think what people in that age group are most concerned about right now is the right now. Many have to chose between heat this winter and their heart medicine. This is not right. Something needs to be done. We should be taking care of our senior citizens.
