How Many Of You Enjoy Writing, Whether Its A Hobby Or A Career?
Just wondering, I like meeting other writers. For me its a hobby, and possibly a career once I get out of middle school, go to high school, and complete college.

i enjoy writing as a hobby, mostly when i got somthing to be happy about
I’ve just completed my MFA in Creative Writing. I love writing. I don’t have a career in it yet; I may never. But I can write until my fingers fall off or until my mind fades, which ever comes first.
i love writing – currently it’s a hobby – one that i am still sandwiching between school (university) and attempting to have a life – like you i one day hope to make it a career, but for now it’s on the back burner…
I enjoy it, which is partly why I spend entirely too much time on YQ&A. I am working on a romance novel and a textbook on philosophy, both of which I hope to finish in the next decade or two.
I do!!! I’m a creative writing major sweetie, and so is my friend Yumyum (or she will be really soon anyways) . Keep on rocking because English is the coolest and it’s the most fun major you could ever have. There is no better way to be successful than to enjoy what you’re doing! I love writing, whether it is for a class, a project, fun, or a script for a film or something. I am in screenwriting, and writing is my life. I can’t really say I enjoy it all the time, because of the time pressure sometimes, but it is a fascinating thing to do nevertheless. I support your dream of being a writer. Good luck with that, I’m sure you will make it if you pursue your goal.

I like writing too. but it has always been a hobby. when i was in high school i was a features editor in our school paper. but i was a physics major so i didn’t get to write more freely in college. it was mostly technical reports and research papers. i keep a journal though.
i think it’s great that you want to be a writer. i suggest you read A LOT because it can help you get ideas about different styles of writing or whatever genre you want to concentrate in. some famous writer said that he’s very suspicioous of people who claim that they want to be writers, but are not avid readers themselves.

I enjoy writing poems and the way you can express feelings and ideas using words to make metaphors and similes. Just a thought…letter writing is almost a forgotten art. Reading something on your computer screen does not compare to reading a hand written letter.
