Well, this is more like a request then a question, really. I need some information on the general overview of metal casting. All the websites I have found seem to focus on furnace types or mold construction where as I need just an explanation on the hobby of metal casting as a whole.
Thanks for any information!

Does Any One Have Any Good Books Or Advice On Srapping Metal For A Hobby?
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009Obviously it is a hobby that will be able to produce a little bit of income. I’m looking for good books for beginners, tips, pretty much any advice I can get. I don’t have a truck, but I’m willing to put in the effort into making it a hobby of mine. I’m very interested in not only scrapping the metal, but cleaning it up and forming ingots to be sold to recycling centers or using for artwork. I’m open to suggestions and ideas, thank you.

Home Improvement: How Can I Cut Small Metal Tiles To Fit Into The Wallspace Behind The Stovetop?
Thursday, December 10th, 2009I think these tiles are aluminum (they look like brushed stainless steel). They are about 4″x4″, picked up from a home improvement store. A few tiles need to be cut in half to fit into the wall space above the stovetop, but so far none of the tactics my cousin has used has cut them successfully. The man who lived in the house before had successfully tiled a section using these exact tiles, some of which he did cut in half (although the tile cuts are not straight and so appear to have been done by hand).
Any ideas from some experienced tilers out there? Thanks so much!
